Thanks to ASI, Italy is today at the forefront of space science. ASI has played a significant role in exploring Saturn and its satellites and Mars through its collaboration with NASA and ESA. ASI's primary contribution has been the MARSIS radar system on the Mars Express probe and the SHARAD radar system onboard the NASA Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter probe. ASI is involved in ExoMars mission, conceived and realized with the main objective to acquire and demonstrate the autonomous European capability to execute a controlled landing on the Martian surface, operate in surface mobility, drill the subsoil to obtain samples and analyse them in situ. Today, TGO, Trace Gas Orbiter, is into the orbit of Mars in order to investigate the presence of methane and other trace gases in the atmosphere, while in the second part of the mission the goal is to land on the Red Planet an innovative rover able to move and equipped with instruments to penetrate and analyse the soil. ASI has also played a key role in the study of comets (the ESA Rosetta mission), asteroids (the NASA DAWN mission) and Venus (the ESA Venus Express mission). Italy can boast of its outstanding success also in astrophysics thanks to the Beppo SAX satellite. iSat Networks is an established UK satellite communications company providing innovative, enhanced VSAT solutions to commercial and military customers across the EMEA region.
